Tuesday Evening Series on 5/18/2021

Western Reserve Model Yacht Club, Results, Tuesday May 18.

Wyatt, Kalman win WRMYC Tuesday Series Races May 18, 2021 at SPIRE

The weekly, Tuesday evening races of Western Reserve Model Yacht Club on May 18, at SPIRE Institute saw outstanding weather (WARM!) with sunny conditions and perfect wind from the North, at 6- 9 MPH. With the good wind, the club sailed the full 12-Heat program starting at 5 PM, and wrapping up at 7:00 PM. Almost all Heats were two-lap races of the longest courses possible on the pond- yet it took just 10 minutes for the average race, including the wait for all boats to finish and the Starting process. It was a great evening, one of the best we could remember! At the end of the 12-Heat program, in the Gold Fleet, Mike Wyatt won, with Series leader David Steger in second. Third was Rick Lawler. In Silver, Bob Kalman won every Heat, 12 for 12. Bob also sailed well enough to beat some of the Gold Fleet as well.

The club’s next event will be this Saturday, May 22 at 9 AM, followed by the Tuesday races next Tuesday May 25 at 4 PM. All WRMYC racing is at SPIRE Institute, Rt. 534 just North of I-90, in Geneva.
