Tuesday Evening Series on 6/1/2021
Wyatt, Hogan win WRMYC Tuesday Series Races June 1, 2021 at SPIRE
Western Reserve Model Yacht Club sailed its sixth Tuesday evening race program on June 1, at SPIRE Institute. The weather was finally very good, with a temperature at race time in the low 60s, partly cloudy skies, and light and variable winds between 3 and 5 MPH. Racing was close with crowded Mark rounding’s and hard-fought upwind legs, as skippers searched for the small bands of available wind.
With the light wind, we were only able to complete 11 Heats ahead of the scheduled 7:30 PM start of the final Heart. In Gold Fleet, Mike Wyatt prevailed, closing on David Steger’s season Series lead; Rick Lawler was third. In Silver, Jim Hogan dominated, winning all but two Heats. Second Place in Silver was closer- Bob Kalman beat Dan Jarold by just three points, and each won one Heat.
