Tuesday Evening Series on 7/13/2021
Steger, Kalman win Western Reserve Model Yacht Club Tuesday July 13, 2021 at SPIRE
On July 13, the forecast was dreadful. RAIN!!! WRMYC has a policy regarding the weather- they never cancel unless the weather is SO bad that it presents a danger to people or equipment.
Tuesday July 13 it did rain, but was down to a sprinkle at 5:00 race time, then by the second race, it was partly cloudy, in the high 70s, winds from the south at about 6 MPH.
Sailors got in 12 GREAT races- ending with David Steger in Gold Fleet 1st, followed by Mike Wyatt, and Rick Lawler. At times, as many as 4 or 5 boats were side-by-side halfway through a race. Competition could not be any closer. In Silver Fleet, Bob Kalman won the evening, retaining his lead in the Silver Fleet standings.
After 11 of the scheduled 26 Tuesday Race dates, David Steger is leading the Gold Fleet year-long Tuesday evening Series by a margin of 6 points. Rick Lawler, and Mike Wyatt have switched several times over the past weeks and are within one point of each other for second in series standings. Series 4th and 5th is also by ONE point, with Bob Valentine leading Bob Schuster.
