WRMYC Racing, Tuesday Series, September 7
Lawler, Kalman win at WRMYC
The conditions at SPIRE were near perfect, for the Western Reserve Model Yacht Clubs 19th, of 26 scheduled Tuesday evening race programs. Winds (according to the weather app) were “fresh” out of the SW, and 10- 18 MPH, with partly cloudy skies. The Heats were all 2 Laps, fast, and close. For the first time in WRMYC’s 11 years (as far as memory serves) we had a Heat that was tied three ways; Fourth place in Race 6 was tied - Mike Wyatt, Larry Lamphier, and Bob Schuster all finished within a 6 inch margin, after two full laps. All three received a Finish position of 4 for that Heat.
Gold Fleet: For the evening, Rick Lawler bested David Steger by one net point, 17 to 18 (low point scoring system). Rick won 5 of the 12 races, and David 4- so the two won 9 of 12. In Third Place was Mike Wyatt at a full 11 points behind Steger.
In Silver, again, Bob Kalman was first.
