Tuesday Evening Series on 9/21/2021
WRMYC Racing, Tuesday Series, September 21
Lawler, Kalman win at WRMYC
“Light rain” the forecast said. Around 4 PM it did sprinkle, but the “light rain” held off until the club had completed 9 of 12 races scheduled for the evening.
In the Gold Fleet, Rick Lawler was first, with 4 wins, but most importantly- with 4 second places in heats he DIDN’T win. That is a hard combination to beat!! Mike Wyatt was second, and David Steger was Third. As we head into the final month of Tuesday competition, Steger has a 13-point season series lead over Lawler, who is 7 points ahead of Wyatt, with five Tuesday dates remaining. Each place on a single day is worth one point.
In Silver, Bob Kalman was the only competitor, and has what is an insurmountable 38-point lead for the season Silver Fleet Championship. Next: The AMYA Region 4 Championship Regattas for the Micro Magic Class, and the Soling 1 Meter Class start at SPIRE this coming Friday, Sept. 24 through Sun, Sept. 26. Sailors from 7 States will be attending. The public is welcome to come to SPIRE, and see the racing – 9 AM through 4 PM each day with a mid day lunch break.
