Tuesday Evening Series on 10/19/2021
WRMYC Racing, Tuesday Series, October 19
Steger, Kalman win at SPIRE, Series standings close up as season nears end
The weather forecast was 10 – 15 MPH winds from SW, and clear. Again that would be medium air, and we had that for about the first 6 aces, before the winds began to drop. Finally, in Race 12- the wind stopped after the leaders rounded the second Mark. Then it was slow going to the Finish. Finally Dave Steger had to rescue all but 3 of the boats (after winning Race 12) to get them ashore.
David Steger won the night in Gold Fleet, ahead of 2nd Place Bob Schuster and 3rd Place Rick Lawler on the second to last Tuesday of the 2021 season. It was Schuster’s second runner-up place in two weeks. With that second place, Bob Schuster moves again into 4th Place for the season, in the back and forth battle with Bob Valentine, who had to leave for another commitment after six Heats of tonight’s program.
There is ONE more Tuesday Race- next Tuesday Oct 26, after 25 race dates, and to move up in the standings: - Wyatt would have to gain 3 points on Lawler to move to 2nd in Gold. - Valentine would have to gain 4 points on Schuster for a 4th on the season. Difficult? Yes, but you can bet they will be trying.
Bob Kalman again was the sole competitor in Silver Fleet and so maintains the Series lead.
