We don't know who named and registered our club or why it is named GTMYC.
It has always been at Freedom Lake Park in Pinellas Park FL.
History has seen many home made model builders as well as racing sailors.
Through time the Soling 1m has dominated the pond but has since disappeared. IOMs are active 2 days per week. DF95 took over from Solings 6 years ago and have dominated the pond since. Raced on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. An active Laser Fleet participates on Wednesdays as well. Tampa Bay RC Laser Fleet #352.
Often there are 12-15 boats racing. Always a friendly competitive tribe. Our racing is informal and scores are not kept. Dues are not collected but most pitch in to cover expenses. |
