Club History
In response to rising dock fees at Battery Park Marina, a passionate group of sailors founded the Sandusky Sailing Club in 1932, setting the stage for a vibrant sailing community. From humble beginnings with a one-room clubhouse built by volunteers, SSC quickly grew, launching innovative boat designs like the SC2, which evolved into the Interlake class. The club’s expansion brought larger boats, prestigious races like the Sandusky Islands Race, and national champions, all while fostering a deep sense of camaraderie. With a beautiful marina, modern facilities, and a commitment to hosting top-tier events, SSC has become a premier destination for sailors, blending rich tradition with a lively, competitive spirit!
